I got a bread machine from Goodwill last weekend. it’s pretty old (the booklet is copyright 1996!), but I couldn’t pass it up - only $10! and it seems to work.
here’s my first attempt. I was going to attempt the basic white bread, until I actually read the recipe and realized I didn’t have dry milk. so I went for the next ‘fool proof recipe’ that I had all the ingredients for: Garlic Herb Bread. (garlic, basil, rosemary & thyme. yeah, doesn’t quite match the song, but it’s still in my head.) It’s quite yummy, and seems to have turned out pretty good even though my yeast is a bit old.
Well - looks like I’ll have to drag min out of hibernation now. I have a great recipe for Grape Nuts bread using the bread machine. I’ll dig it our for you if your interested.
Does it have a timer? Mine’s pretty old, and it has a timer, so we can set up the ingredients the night before, then have fresh bread first thing in the morning. Yum.
