so I decided to skip the midnight parties. I started a new knitting project instead (more on that later).
Saturday, I continued the new knitting project then headed to the library. I did not win a copy there, so onward to the land of shopping. (sidenote: the library had the local ‘royalty’ there to help out. let me just say that seeing a bunch of pageant girls in tiaras with Harry glasses and lightning scars was a bit weird. cute, but weird.) I needed gas and bread, and we were a bit concerned about the state of the checking account, so I hit Sammy’s club, where we could put it on credit. and they had Harry, so I got it there. then I decided to do a bit of yarn shopping.

and as I was heading home (around 2pm. no I had not eaten lunch yet, I figured I’d be home soon enough.), I attempted to bypass a knot of interstate traffic and encountered traffic on the regular roads. and my car did not stop as quickly as the guy ahead of me and I flippin’ rear-ended him. apparently, this was the 4th time he’d been rearended (what does that say about his driving? hmm. me, I haven’t hit anyone since about 6 months after I got my license a good 10-odd years ago). did I mention I forgot my cellphone? figures. so I waited at a nearby fast food place for dh to pick me up. thankfully, I had both the new Harry Potter book and my sockapalooza sock with me, so I wouldn’t be eternally bored while we went back to what he was doing (running an RPG, if you must know).

Sunday was spent reading, for the most part. with frequent interruptions from dh. we went to see Ratatouille last night, but he wouldn’t let me read in the car (grr! but I got over it). and then I finished the book on the bus in to work this morning.

now, we can return to our regularly scheduled sock knitting.

(oh, and no, I wasn’t hurt, neither were the people in the other car.)
