So last night, I went on a mini-yarn crawl before heading to the guild meeting. Since it was on my way from work to St Paul, I poked into Depth of Field first. I spent much time mulling over the sock yarn choices, but they didn’t really have what I wanted for the pattern I have in mind for one of my sock pals. So then it was on to Borealis Yarns, which I’ve been in once or twice before, but it was definitely time to revisit them. I poked around the main front room and saw a few sock options, but thought there had to be more, so asked where I’d find it. I was led to a room further back (that I hadn’t realized existed during previous visits) where most of one wall and a bit of another were full of sock yarn. One had alpaca in the blend and I need to go back and get it one of these days.

After that, I headed back to the Textile Center for the guild meeting where Amy Singer was to be speaking about things non-woolly and promote her book No Sheep…. My camera’s batteries felt the need to die the day before, so alas, no pictures.

Today, I plan to start the River something socks from Sockamania using some Rio de Plata in Harbor Blue. They’re intended to be for a sock pal (I’m in two sock swaps this summer), but I just looking at the yarn, the urge to keep them for myself is already pretty strong. I suppose I could make a second pair for myself…
