ok, so I’ve been knitting.
* the Kureyon Karp is temporarily off the needles. the body is done - I need to add fins and such before it goes thru the wash for felting
* did I mention I finally wove in the ends on Amelia’s birthday socks? Happy Socktoberfest!

‘front’ and ‘back’ views of the socks can be seen in the gallery
* I also finally wove in the ends on Melanie’s mittens (yeah, the ones I started on the hottest day of the summer back in July that got me out of my summer non-knitting funk.) (since this is a gift, you’ll have to just imagine what they actually look like. if you’ve seen past gifts I’ve knit for her, it shouldn’t be too difficult. ;) )

* I received a package from my Spooky SP over at the knittyboard:

the non-knitting loot. I wore the socks to work on the 31st. =]

the knitting loot. Burly Spun from Brown Sheep Co and 4 skeins Berroco Softwist. and some stitch markers.
THANK YOU SPOOKY SP!
what else?
oh, today I cast on a snowman (I didn’t want to try to do fish fins on the bus - no elbow room, ya know?). I’m almost done with the first ‘ball’ - it’s knitting up quite fast!
Amelia’s mittens are progressing slowly. I have an idea for Lilin’s, just need to do a gauge swatch. Still need to think about dad’s and the BIL’s. and something for dh - he wants socks. but I’m not sure that’ll happen by the holidays. we’ll try.
Now for the contest (which was intended to celebrate my blogiversary/purliversary last month):

Leave me a caption in the comments here by Nov 11th. Prizes will include stitch markers and some lovely parting gifts from my knitting book/yarn stash. ETA: I’m thowing some Muench Touch Me into the prize pot. I’m finally coming to terms with the fact that it won’t be used by me.

How many licks does it take to get to the center?
Fab package! And fab picture too. : ) A caption…
“Ptooey, this mouse tastes terrible!”
Amelia says:
“Care bears! And thank you for the socks!
I’m going to send you a letter. And
sometime I’m going to your house if you
can pick me up. The socks are pretty.
On Wednesday you can come to my house
for a sleepover again. Do you know where
my school is? Sometime we can go to
the fair together. You’re pretty.
Sometime on a rainbow day, maybe we can
go outside and play.”
I say:
Amelia likes her new socks. They came in
the mail today. They fit perfectly!
Thank you! Talk to you soon! I love ya!
Bwah-ha-ha!! The humans won’t know what hit them when I release my FrankenMouse!
MY CLAWS ARE STUCK!
“Tongue and Tail…a love story”
“Gaack! Lint!”
Hey. I LOVE those socks.
“Ha ha! I KEEL you!”
(and what a fun surprise! I loved doing the Spooky SP)
Yuck. Maybe I should start from the other end of this mouse?
My tumb is swellbing, I bink I’m allerbick to bis mouse. Helb!
“Ah-ah-ah-choo! Mom, I think I am allergic to this mouse!”
Too much Halloween sugar makes good kitties attack!
Alas, foul rodent!
You are no match for the glare of my green X-Ray Eyes and Blue-Striped Tongue of Death!
And don’t think you can outwit me by cleverly flailing about helplessly! How well I know your ruses, bitter enemy!
Victory is mine!
“Man, this is my best hairball yet!”
Make one move and you’re getting it.
“DAMN! Why is it she gets out that camera when I’m in my least dignafied position? Hope this doesn’t end up on the front cover of the Star.”
“When kitties attack - no knitting is safe.” :)
Look! This mouse is turning my tongue purple!
“Yay! Mousey, my favorite delicacy!”
No, really I do NOT have a catnip problem.
“Mouse, it’s what for dinner.”
The picture is so cute!!
This shot will put me on Cute Overload for sure!
forget hairballs, I’ve got felt balls…
“These grape mice always turn my tongue purple.”
(from my husband Josh)
Help! My face and body are paralysed into this position!
“If I bite off your head first, will you keep running around?”
Urggh.. this one is a fighter! (from my daughter Khi)
Stop fighting Cat! I have you exactly where I want you! (from me)
MMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Help! My face did freeze in that position!
If you lick it just the right way, it tastes like chicken!
