I had my first sock class last night. I’m learning the toe-up method and learned the figure 8 cast on (evil thing, that is). I now have enough sock after the 2 hour class to cover half of my big toe. woohoo! homework is to get up to (or close to) the ankle bone so we can start our heels next week. I’ll post a pic later.

in other WIP progress…
* last week I worked on the thing. I finished the purl stripe and was about to start the next stripe but decided to work on something else this week (also wanted to take a progress pic)
* I worked on dh’s HP scarf on the way to work the last couple days. I finished the half-stripe I was in, finished a yellow stripe, and am a few rows into the next marroon stripe. it has been abandoned for today so I can attempt to make progress on the sock.
* I tried playing with the crochet edge on the tank top (which I’m thinking is more likely to fit Amelia then Lilin at this point. and her birthday’s next week…), but ripped it out cuz I wasn’t sure if I was doing it right.
* I have the yarn for Samus, but haven’t done anything with is since opening the box.

oh, and this xmas is going to be seeing lots of hats, I think. I picked up some odd Kids Hats booklet with the 50% off coupon Michael’s has last weekend. so cute! and while talking to my sister this weekend, she mentioned that Eli needs a hat (and a beard). and that she wouldn’t mind a hat to match her scarf. and I’d already planned on making the girls hats (which is why I bought the book). good thing they’re quick to make. (if only I could decide on the yarn… do acrylic & cotton really keep your head warm? I really would rather find an animal fiber/acrylic blend so that it’s warm and washable. I’m thinking of hunting down some Plymouth Encore or Wool-Ease, assuming I can find the right colors in worsted & sport weight. they are in the frozen tundra, afterall.)
