our internet is being really in-and-out today, which is driving me batty (it took about 4 tries to get into this). basically I wanted to give a quick thanks to Darleen - I got the package yesterday (and the chocolate is gone. quite yummy. dh is amused at pulling the egg on the tape measure. hehe. and Kashka has approved the yarn.) will post more tomorrow

in a state of ‘what to do’, I decided to fight with the commenting problem. problem solved. you are now free to leave comments again. :)

I also updated the images/links in the Finished Projects lists. whoohoo, things are getting checked off the to-do list

last night I finished the main part of the the tank top. I really like the 3 needle bind off. (wish I’d know about it for the nephew cardigan). I also played a bit and crocheting finally clicked. now I just need to figure out how to do more than a chain. and how to do the crochet edge. so yeah, the tank top needs the crochet edge applied to the top and the ruffle added to the bottom. and then it’ll be done. (I would have worked on that last night, but I had a killer headache from this stupid cold I managed to catch. somehow I managed to figure out the crochet chain with the headache. didn’t want to do any damage to the top though.)

so now my mind says that that project is finished (even though it’s really not). and I want to start something new. but I know I have too many WIPs and unless it’s one of the sweaters I want for myself, I’m not starting anything new (excepting socks, when I finally get around to taking the class next month). so I decided to resurrect the Thing. that I started way back at the beginning of the year (or was it last year?) when I joined the Thing-a-long. so that’s my new bus project. except I didn’t start working on it on the morning commute. but I will tonight.

some marvelous minds from the knittyboard have come up with the idea and a group blog to finish up our WIPs.

and seeing as I’ve had a great case of startitis and finishitis is nowhere in sight, I will soon be joining in. after I recover from this weekend (dance competition! thankfully it’s local, so no travel. but there is class/last minute practice tonight and tomorrow, and there’ll be some partying afterwards, I’m pretty sure. even if I do not-so-great). the plan is to flush out all the WIPs, take pics, and put the progress bars back into the sidebar (and update the WIPs page as well). should be interesting.

probably not the newest of ideas or anything, but hey, I hadn’t thought of it on my own. anywho, there’s this sock yarn (the blue one) in my stash that doesn’t have a mate:

and I’m probably never going to find a mate for it (I’m sure ‘discontinued’ is the reason it was on sale).

so, wandering the blogosphere this morning, I stumbled onto Domestic Overlord’s site and discovered her socks-in-progress. brilliant! now I just need a solid sock yarn to match my lonely one, and I’ll be all set.
