in celebration of my birthday (added bonus is that it’s also payday), I am planning to go shopping tomorrow at the Yarn Cafe & Amazing Threads - as, conveniently, they are both having sales this week/end (that coincide tomorrow, if my info is correct) and are within 15 minutes of each other (assuming you don’t get lost). Courtesy of my parents, I am planning to buy a Denise set (though I don’t know if it’ll be at either of those shops. I’m thinking of using it at one of the shops I have a ‘punch card’ thing for. at any rate, I will be supporting one of the local stores). also on the list is a pair of Addi’s 12″ size 8’s, because I don’t think I can handle making my HP scarf on the 16″ I have (dh’s is a bit wider than I would like). anything else will be bought on a whim and hopefully have a specific purpose in mind.

just got my list of people I’m sending to. I will apologise now to my August people - I still need to go bead shopping, so they might get mailed a little bit past the date. but I’ll try not to let that happen!

I’ve been working on the nephew-to-be’s cardigan. the back is finished and one front side is almost done. I hope it turns out ok - I’m modifying a pattern, so am a little unsure what’s going on at times.

the kitty bed has stalled - the bottom is done, and I’ve started the side bit, but that’s about it.

oh, and I’ve joined the SparKAL (see it hidden over there among the “Join” buttons?). haven’t fully decided what to make yet, but I have a few ideas (mainly along the legwarmers theme. quel suprise)

just haven’t posted much lately.
Last week, dh was away, and I got bored with his HP scarf. So in search of a ‘quick knit’ and wanting to use stash yarn, I started the Princess Snowball Cat Bed from Stitch n Bitch on either Friday or Saturday. I’ve finished the bottom and started the side piece. woohoo!

I was working on it Wednesday when I went to the Burnsville SnB group. thomasina joined us - it was nice to meet someone from online in real life. :) Rina brought in the mice and toys she made from the pattern in SnB Nation - they were so cute. I’ve decided I have to make them.

Today I went to the Highland Games. Took way too many pictures (darn continuous shooting mode), got a nice sunburn - again (got a bit of a sunburn on the 4th while watching my Irish dance school perform at the Capital. note to self: your arms will get burned. they don’t need ‘a little color’. put on sunscreen!), and came home. I’m feeling a little out of it (slight headache - not sure if it’s from the heat, not enough water, or not enough ‘proper’ food), so I’ll post the pics of the junkie’s exploits the other day later.

yes folks, I have a junkie on my hands. I blame fat cat. see, I bought her one of their cardboard scratching things. and she likes it. she also likes their ‘zoom around the room’ catnip. so much so that she’s willing to steal it IN PLAIN SITE of me. hello, I’m sitting at my desk, where the catnip is, not 2 feet away from it. I will take it away from you. not to mention I gave you a catnip party THIS MORNING! it hasn’t even been 12 hours!
