happiness is a new Knitty…

I am highly coveting MARIAH. almost more than Rogue. I am torn. Zippy-cardi-ness is a good thing, since my plan is to use it as a cover-up between dances at competitions and such, and since Mariah is already a zippy-cardi, I think I’d prefer that over altering Rogue. but I still like Rogue. I may have to make both…

other winter issue items I’m thinking I might like to make:
* very tall socks
* one of the other sweater-y tops (haven’t decided which one though)
* maryella (I have a cousin with that name, and it looks like a nice small intro to beaded knitting project)
* pasha
* bob + weave and wavy are also tempting me
* tempting is also tempting, but I’m unsure about the bow

and I am thankful for the article on using percents to figure sizing on sweaters. I’m sure that will come in handy since my personal knitting library is rather minimal right now.

today I attended a workshop for the Mother Bear Project. If you haven’t heard of Mother Bear yet, they collect hand knit bears and send them to children in need in developing countries. I managed to get about 1 1/2 of his legs done during the workshop. He’s going to have green pants and a shirt in orange, yellow and brown. Haven’t decided on his face yet. I’ll post a pic when it’s finished.
