I went to an event today called Stitch to Win. So I made my donation and picked up my kit, and wandered over to the knitters table. A luvly woman named Liz started out and showed me the correct way to knit, and also how to purl. Ah, so much easier now!

After making a bit of progress on the scarf, we realized I had an extra row in, so we ripped it all out, and started over. While I was reworking it, they had a shift change for the volunteers. The new group of women were pretty cool - they had lots of really cool WIPs. The woman who continued to help me (though I can’t remember her name) was kind enough to let me knit on some of her projects so I could get a feel for the different needles. So I worked a row of a hat on circular needles, and a row of a sock on double-points. Not as scary as they first seemed!

The ladies were talking about lots of great LYSs. So I def have to check out the 3 Kittens shop now. Also Needlework Unlimited (I think - something like that). And there’s another one but I forget the name of it, but the owner was there, and the project she was working on was THE PERFECT YARN for the Wooly Bear scarf my sister wants. Somebody was kind enough to write down the name of the yarn for me, so now I just need to go hunt it down! yay!
